The drums will be showcased at Văn Miếu-Quốc Tử Giám (Temple of Literature)
on the upcoming National Day (September 2). Then, they will be used during an arts
performance at the grand ceremony.
After the grand ceremony
in October, the 100 bronze drums will be offered to 63 cities and provinces
nationwide and 37 most outstanding economic groups, companies and individuals.
Each drum weighs 60kg and
has a diameter of 60 cm. The biggest one, bearing 1,000 dragons on its 1m-in-diameter
surface, stands 79 cm high.
They were made from
December 22, 2009 to August 10, 2010 by two workshops owned by artisans Thiều
Quang Tùng and Nguyễn Minh Tuấn from Thanh
Hóa Province.
